When it comes to catering your wedding, the primary question remains… Whether to Buffet or not!
Like everything else in life, a buffet style wedding has its pro’s and con’s. Of course the answer of whether to have a buffet style wedding or not, may ultimately depend on your budget.
However, before making your decision solely on your budget, a few other factors must be taken into consideration when deciding if a buffet Style wedding is right for you.
The first thing to take into consideration is the amount of guests that will be attending your wedding, here at UrbanBrideChic we suggest that if you are having fifty guests or less, a buffet style wedding should be completely permissible and completely acceptable, emphasizing always on food quality and service of course.
However, if you are having over fifty guests and going buffet style, just know that it could get pretty messy and quick!
We have all seen this time after time, where wedding guests are standing in a seemingly endless line to get their food, which can happen if you have a very large guest list. Not only can this be chaotic going from station to station, but by the time your guests reach the end of the line, not only will they be annoyed about standing and waiting so long to eat, but their food will surely be cold as well. This is one of, if not the most important factor to definitely keep in mind when making your decision as to whether to have a buffet style wedding or not.
The other thing to consider is to make sure that your buffet stand has stylish legible labels in front of each food warmer station, this way your guests will know what their food choices are and won’t have to play guessing games.
The last thing that you want is for your guests to remember your wedding day for all the wrong reasons, one being “The Food Guessing Game” entertainment. That’s a big no-no, so making sure that those labels are there is very important.
Having a couple of servers behind the buffet table to assist your guests adds a nice touch of class and your guests will appreciate it, just in case they do need help or assistance in any way. This should be a must even if your wedding is a DIY.
Tip of the day:
Never, ever use disposable plastic silverware, flatware or stemware and paper napkins for a wedding, never, ever!
Keeping things classy and simple will always win, this is your special day, your once in a lifetime!
