Mass Valentine Wedding set for Laredo, Texas

Municipal court Judge Rosie Cuellar is back offering couples the chance to tie the knot on February 14th in her increasingly popular mass wedding ceremony.

At the Laredo, Texas, Municipal Courthouse any couples who want to go and tie the knot on the most romantic day of the year can go and get themselves hooked up in legal matrimony at the service, along with a whole bunch of other couples!

The service will be held in both England and Spanish and all that participants need of course, is a marriage license which has been issued at least 72 hours before the time of the ceremony (which will be at noon on Valentine’s Day).

The marriage licenses can be requested at the Webb County Justice Center and they will be signed by Cuellar after the ceremony (for free) and will be ready within a week so the couples can get them filed.

As well as the joy of getting married there will be prize drawings up for grabs, with one of the top ones being a nice weekend getaway at the La Posada Hotel. Rush yourself over and get signed up though because the last day to register to take part in the mass wedding is Friday, February 10th and that has to be done at the Municipal Court Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Which reminds us…

The largest ever mass wedding took place back in 2009 across four continents. Members of the Unification Church, some 20,000 couples were married by Reverend Sun Myung Moon. Around half of the couples participated at the Sun Moon University Campus (Seoul, South Korea) and the rest were in simultaneous ceremonies hosted in cities across the US, Brazil and Venezuela.
