It’s the most wonderful time of the year!!! Nooo, not the holidays, silly!! It’s almost time for those wonderful winter wedding dress sales!! Now, I know you’ll be tempted to just order your dream dress straight out of the magazine, but I implore you, before you do—Read this article first!!
Princess Capes—long, flowy and sheer or dramatically designed, Princess capes are all the rage on the runways. These capes are perfect for early spring or late fall weddings where the temps can dip in the evening hours. They provide warmth on a frosty wedding night without taking away from the beauty of your dress.
Jackets—Prefer something a little shorter? Jackets and capelets are a great alternative to princess capes. The still provide the same warmth and coverage but they are short and chic and provide a great edge to a more traditional gown.
Tea Length—All the rage in the 50’s, tea length dresses are staging a comeback. The mid calf dresses walk a fine line between semi-formal and formal. These dresses are for those who want to show off a bold shoe or just eschew tradition by escaping from floor length gowns. Tea length dresses are flattering on all body shapes and sizes, because they tend to be a little more forgiving in the lower half of the body!
It’s Just a Little Blush—COLOR HONEY!!!! Gone are the days where brides would choose between white and ivory. Wedding dresses are coming with flare! Shades of pinks, greys and nudes have been shown on the runways and they are making their way to your local bridal boutiques!! These dresses are not for the faint of heart, as they require a bride to make a daring departure from the norm.
Suited and Booted—Know who always has a great suit? Diane Keaton. If you REALLY want to break from wedding tradition and you are a non-conformist, wedding suits are what’s in style! Pants are making their way to showrooms as jazzy attire for smaller, civil ceremonies. And we aren’t taking men’s style, structured suits. Everything from beautiful palazzo pants with cute crop tops to more fitted and formal jumpsuits, complete with flowing trains. These pants are sure to turn a few heads as you make your way down the aisle!!
I hope that you have enjoyed your tour through some of the trends for your bridal attire for 2018. Trends may come and go but if you follow your heart when wedding dress shopping, you’ll always be the Belle of the Ball!!
